The Planar Chaos expansion set was printed with black borders on the face of the
cards.
Cards can be identified by the
expansion symbol on the right hand
side of the middle section. The expansion symbol is
black for common cards ()
silver for uncommon cards ()
and gold for rare cards ().
The 165 card set's breakdown by rarity looks like this:
Normal | Foil |
40 Rares | 40 Rare Foils |
40 Uncommons | 40 Uncommon Foils |
40 Commons | 40 Common Foils |
10 Timeshift Rares | 10 Timeshift Rare Foils |
15 Timeshift Uncommons | 15 Timeshift Uncommon Foils |
20 Timeshift Commons | 20 Timeshift Common Foils |
This set includes a Timeshift rarity category in the packs. Timeshift cards can
be identified by white card name instead of the normal black card name. The
Timeshift rares appear in the Timeshift uncommon slot one fourth of the time.
Due to the distribution in booster packs, the Timeshift rares are the same
actual rarity as a normal rare, the Timeshift uncommons are about 1.25 as easy
to get as a normal uncommon, and Timeshift commons are about 1.5 times easier
to get than a normal common.
This set contains foil premium cards. These cards are
identical to the normal cards in name, text, etc. They are just printed
with a metalic foil finish. Every card in this set has a foil version.
Foil versions of cards appear in a common card slot regardless of the rarity
of the foil card. So you can get both a normal rare and a foil rare in one
pack. Common foils appear in about one in 12 boosters. Uncommon foils
appear in about one in 18 boosters. Rare foils appear in about one in
36 boosters.
It was released on February 2, 2007.
The print run is unknown.
