Eighth Edition is also known as "Core Set".
The Eighth Edition was released in order to rotate the contents of the
basic set. The cards still have white borders, have a
eight on three cards expansion symbol and
"copyright 1993-2003" is on the base of the cards. The expansion symbol is
black for common cards ( )
silver for uncommon cards ( )
and gold for rare cards ( ).
Cards were first available in late July 2003.
This is the first release using a new card front design. The card backs
are the same.
There are foil versions of every card and the foils have a black border.
The 357 card set's breakdown by rarity looks like this:
